Measuring blinds:How To

Measuring guide for roman, roller and venetian blinds

Please Note! Do not use a cloth measuring tape. They can stretch and give a wrong measurement. You must ensure your measurements are correct as returns cannot be accepted for customer error in this instance. 

Determine whether the blind is to hang inside a recess or over the top of it. 
  
a. Outside Recess 
  
Tell us the exact size of the blind you require to cover this recess. This is called “Exact Measurement” when you order your blind.

b. Inside Recess

Measure width at the bottom middle and top. (note down the shortest and give us this measurement)
Do the same with the drop in 3 places right, middle and left (again, note down the shortest and give us this measurement)

Important note re Velux windows

All we need here is the serial number found on the plate attached to the inside (top) of the frame. It contains the measurements in this code.

If you are ordering “Roller blinds” for an “outside recess” remember that the fabric will be 2.8cm less than your measurement to accommodate the fittings. please allow for this or add this to the size of your blind so that you get the coverage you need.

In the case of an “inside recess” the blind will automatically come adjusted so as to fit within this recess. Do note however that with a “Roller blind” the fittings will necessitate slightly less fabric (usually 2.8cm to 3.3cm) please make sure that this is acceptable before you order.

Please be sure you understand the points above and measure correctly. We hate to have to refuse returns on these grounds so please double check all measurements or get a second opinion if necessary.
